these moments that I've had.

I have spent my week here, here and here. And tonight we are off to here to see them and this.

We know how to live.

Happy Halloween weekend. And remember, my American friends, don't vote the scary man back in.

The next Democratic President of the United States* is 57 years old today.

* crosses everything that he is wrong and, in fact, John Kerry wins next Tuesday.

Watch out, actors. US cable station AMC, is trying to fool *you*, not *just* regular people now. They are unleashing "Film Fakers" tomorrow night, possibly the cruellest reality-tv show yet. I think, crueller than eating bulls testicles, creepy crawlies and having to date a slog, degradation is par for the course, when out-of-work actors think they have got a break and are making a film. They are actually being duped, from the crazed director and flimsy script, but they just don't know it. CHiPs' Erik Estrada and Rachel Hunter have been drafted in to make it more 'realistic'.

Probably would have been more amusing to NOT let Erik in on the act.

"You know, a lot of people are dying around here. We got bigger things on our mind to worry about than who wants to be president."
- Soldier SAMUEL DANIELS, in Iraq.

The US broadcaster Pat Robertson set off a partisan fight by recounting that President Bush had assured him "we're not going to have any casualties" in the Iraq invasion.

The invasion of Iraq has now achieved what Saddam Hussein did not: putting dangerous weapons in the hands of terrorists and creating an offshoot of Al Qaeda.

A NASA climate expert planned to say in a lecture on Tuesday night that a Bush administration official told him not to discuss the consequences of global warming.

"If this isn't good for my heart, I don't know what is."
- BILL CLINTON, at a campaign rally in Philadelphia.

It took us three hours to get there, going the long way and, thanks to a 'shunt' on the M1, about the same time to get back, going the short way (NB: the 'shunt' did not involve us).

It was the first time I had been to Alton Towers and had it not rain, and this was the most out-of-season visit. Go figure.

Lovely to meet up with Elsie and her posse; Elsie and I doing most of the coat-holding while posse's took to the rails. It didn't help that I ate all the pies (well, a whole one of my own and the remaining 1/4 of Dave's)- made me quite nauseous to think of riding again after that.

After an insomnia-riddled week and harder-than-usual working week, it was much needed.

Off to Duckie for Martin's birthday bash tonight.

With Dave going to see Go Team! again last Thursday, this is quite a sociable week for the likes of us. Most unusual.

You've probably heard this story by now.

Bless.

And this is film of the year... last year.

So, I didn't see it until this week, OK!

I don't wish to speak ill of the dead, but Country 'n Western great, Skeeter Davis, who died this week, really did look like a man in the 1970's.
